Geißspitze - finally nice weather
It was one of those late summer days: warm, sunny great views. Finally I managed to be there and to go hiking. It was worth it. It was basically the same are where I went hiking 2 weeks ago. But this time we took the Golmer Höhenweg and went from mountain top to moutain top until the Geißspitze at 2334m. On the way back we took a little detour to visit some very small lakes. Enjoy the pics...

Hiking weekend in Gauertal - rain rain rain
It is unbeliveable. 1 week ago it was sunny and more than 38 degrees (C) in the shadow, and when I go hiking? Of course it is raining... This time with the football team. We stayed in the Gauertalhütte for 2 nights, a really nice little hut and especially the food was amazing :). Saturday it cleared up late morning and we hiked till 6pm in heavy rain. Now I know that my softshell jacket stays dry for 2 hours... ;)
I have been in the area (Lindauer Hütte, Rätikon) some years ago. Nice hiking area close to mountains calld "the three towers" at the border Austria-Switzerland.
Sunday it was heavily raining. So we went directly back to the car :(. Not the nicest shots, but a couple are ok.

Hiking trip to Hoher Kasten in Switzerland
From back home I can see the Alpstein-massif when it is a clear day on the other side of the lake but I never went hiking there, because it is much closer to go to Austria. But that did change last weekend. The forecast was good, but sadly there were clouds all over. The (very expensive!) cable car trip to the top was through clouds and from the top there was nothing to see but clouds... The mountain is below 2000meters but very high up the Rhine valley. The trip back took 6-7 hours with a big loop to Saxerlücke and Bollenwees and a lots of ups and even more downs... When the weather is nice the views are great. To one side the Rhine valley and the Austrian alps to the other side the swiss alps and to the north the Lake of Constance. But the view was bad only in the afternoon it cleared up. Hopefully it will be better for the next trips...
